Screening policy

The editorial staff reviews all manuscripts upon receipt to ensure the journal's requirements for format, scope, originality, and potential impact. If a manuscript does not adhere to the standard procedures of the multidisciplinary research journal, the editorial team will return it to the author for format correction. If the manuscript meets the prescribed standards it will be assigned to an external peer reviewer.

Open Access Policy

Published articles are free for readers to download, share and reuse. When re-using an article, proper acknowledgment of the authors’ contributions is required.

Plagiarism Policy

The journal is strictly against any unethical act of copying or plagiarism in any form. All manuscripts submitted for publication in Frontiers of Multidisciplinary Research are cross-checked for plagiarism using tools such as iThenticate or Turnitin. If policy violation regarding plagiarism is identified after publication, the Editor-in-Chief will conduct a preliminary investigation and take the necessary action as recommended by the committee. Citation Policy

Citations must reference appropriate and relevant literature that supports the claims made in the manuscript. Manipulation of citations (such as excessive self-citation, citing unrelated articles, or preferentially citing friends, peers, institutional publications or that which do not directly support the statement) will result in rejection and may be reported to the author’s institution. Authors must follow the journal’s citation guidelines when preparing the manuscript.

Declaration of Patient consent

Authors must certify that they have obtained all appropriate patient consent forms prior to submission. The consent form should state that the patient(s) agree to the publication of their images and clinical information. Patients should be informed that their names and initials will not be published and, while the journal will make every effort to conceal their identity, anonymity cannot be guaranteed.

  • Authors must declare any conflicts of interest to the editors upon submission.
  • The published paper will clearly indicate the declaration and provide links to details if necessary.
  • FoMR will publish an erratum if a conflict of interest is discovered after publication.
  • Authors unsure about what constitutes a conflict of interest should seek advice from the editorial team.

Retraction Policy

Articles will be considered for retraction if:

  • Results were published elsewhere without proper citation, permission, or justification.
  • The investigation clearly shows that the results are not reliable due to:
    • Major error
    • Data manipulation
    • Plagiarism
    • Improper citation or acknowledgement

AI Policy

FoMR has put policies in place to deal with the usage of AI-assisted technologies and generative AI in scientific writing. These guidelines are intended to give more transparency to authors, reviewers, editors, and contributors, offering clear direction.

Authors

Authors are permitted to use generative AI and AI-assisted technologies only to enhance the language and readability of their work, with proper acknowledgment.

  • Authors should disclose the use of AI and AI-assisted technologies in their articles and include a statement in the published work.
  • AI and AI-assisted technologies should not be listed as authors or co-authors. (authorship means taking on responsibilities and jobs that can only be done by human)
  • Before submitting their work, authors must ensure that it is original, does not violate the rights of third parties, and is in accordance with the Ethics in Publishing policy.
  • Generative AI or AI-assisted tools are prohibited from generating or modifying images in submitted manuscripts, with the exception of research design or methods.
  • Authors must follow AI software's usage policies and ensure the correct content attribution. The use of AI for production of artwork is not permitted
  • All authors are accountable for verifying the accuracy and integrity of their submitted content.

Reviewers

Peer reviewer’s role is vital in assessing the scientific content publications.

  • Reviewers are responsible and accountable for ensuring the accuracy of the content and for providing their evaluation reports. This process relies on the mutual trust between the authors, reviewers and editors.
  • The use of generative AI and AI-assisted technologies is strictly prohibited during the peer review process, as critical thinking and original assessment are essential and beyond AI’s scope.
  • Evaluating a scientific manuscript requires qualities unique to humans.
  • Manuscripts must be considered as a confidential document. Reviewers are not allowed to upload it or any part of the manuscript to or use AI tools during their review.
  • The peer review report is equally confidential as they may contain confidential data about the authors or the manuscript.

Reviewing a scientific manuscript is a task that requires human judgment therefore FoMR insists on the highest standards of honesty and integrity throughout this process.
